President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has removed Saidu Mohammed as the Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA).
He was sacked from office after just four months of occupying the seat, with the president promptly nominating Rabiu Abdullahi Umar as his replacement, subject to Senate confirmation.
In the interim NMDPRA’s most senior official will serve in an acting capacity.
A statement issued by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Mohammed’s removal was to enhance regulatory oversight in the midstream and downstream petroleum segments of the Nigerian economy.

Tinubu thanked Mohammed for his service and
Tinubu has also reiterated his administration’s determination towards reforms in the key sectors towards economic growth.
