Man Utd, Liverpool, Newcastle Face Bidding War To Sign Mason Mount

Mason Mount has been added to Manchester United’s list of midfield transfer targets as they try to bolster their team this summer.

According to The Guardian, Manchester United is looking to add players to Erik ten Hag’s roster this summer and has added Mount to its list of prospective targets.

As long as contract negotiations linger, the midfielder’s future at Chelsea is up in the air, which has made United and a number of other Premier League teams aware of his potential availability.

Mount, according to the source, has been added to a list that also includes Jude Bellingham, who might prove to be too expensive if Ten Hag decides that United should go all-out for Harry Kane.

Kane has been linked with moves away from Spurs on a regular basis, and that might happen this summer as they try to avoid finishing another season without a trophy after their Champions League loss.

But, it might be expensive, similar to Bellingham, leading United to look into less expensive options like Mount, whose contract situation might persuade Chelsea to sell at a discount, before it expires in 2024.

United wouldn’t have a clear run at the 24-year-old, though, with Liverpool holding an interest and Newcastle United also recently joining the race for the England international.

The Blues need to sell players in summer with their squad incredibly bloated after a spending spree, and it is believed that Mount could be available at a price of £50 million.

Mount must find a way back into the side at Chelsea in order to keep his stock high ahead of the summer, be it to sign a new contract in London or put himself in a strong position to choose a new club.
