Lagos Assembly Speaker, Obasa Commissions Community Radio

Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, yesterday commissioned a community radio station in Pero, Agege Lagos, with dignitaries from different walks of life in attendance.

The station on 106.9 Fm, is a subsidiary of senior Boyz Production Ltd, owned by Hon.Olungbenga Oguniyi.

Among dignitaries invited to the event were the Baale of Dopemu, High Chief Shuaib Akogunlowo; Baale of Ajegunle, Alhaji Murisuku Balogun; Baale Otubu Chief Lateef Salako, the senior media assistant to Hon.Sunday Ganiyu, Hon.Garba Ismail, Ologba elect MHR Samuel Babatunde, the Olu of Agege, Oba Kamilu Isiba and other Chiefs in Agege and its environs.

Host of the event, Hon.Olugbenga Oguniyi said the Community Radio had paid its dues in every facet of journalistic reporting including Politics, Entertainment, Information, Sports, Social and Cultural circles.

 “Your being here today makes you a lifter and partner of the laudable project as an ambassador of development and progress in our dear Community in particular and Lagos State at large”, he said.

According to him, the radio station was established for the benefit of everyone in Agege and its environs, with its priority being to keep Agege and its environ abreast of happenings in and around Lagos State.

He said the station’s mission was to rank among the best radio stations in Nigeria, indeed a station committed in mainiting a tradition of excellence and which people would be proud to associate with.

Obasa was represented at the event by Hon.Sunday Ladipo  who, in assuring the management of the station of maximum support, said they all knew the kind of support that Obasa had been giving to the media, adding that he was ready to protect the rights of individuals through the media spectrum.

He pledged continued support to the management team of the radio station, adding that the station would soon be heard by Agege people resident in Germany and other parts of Europe.
