Barca Considering Raphinha-Sancho Swap Deal With Man Utd

La Liga champions, FC Barcelona are considering taking on exiled Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho in exchange for Brazilian wide man Raphinha.

Sancho has spent months trying to find a way out of Manchester. The former Dortmund winger, who was banished earlier this season following a public argument with boss Erik ten Hag, is reportedly surplus to requirements. Additionally, according to Sport, Barca may still be able to sign the England international because the Blaugrana is willing to give up Raphinha in order to complete what would be a spectacular trade.

Following a lacklustre debut campaign in Catalonia, Raphinha’s name has been mentioned frequently in transfer rumours. The rise of highly-rated winger Lamine Yamal at Barcelona has raised questions about his long-term future, and he has also been linked to Chelsea and Arsenal.

Any deal for Raphinha could be complicated by a conflict of interest. Barca sporting director Deco, who would be responsible for negotiations, is the Brazilian’s former agent, and helped broker the deal that landed him at Camp Nou in 2022.

Sancho is said to be hoping to rejoin Manchester United, but Ten Hag has urged the winger to initiate contact, which he doesn’t seem to be willing to do. Raphinha, on the other hand, will keep battling for a position on Xavi’s team in the congested attacking ranks.
