Army Responds To Asari Dokubo’s Threat To Down Military Aircraft
The Nigerian Army has responded to ex-Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo’s assertion that he could bring down military aircraft allegedly hovering over his house.
A video of Asari Dokubo, making the claim during the recent Rivers State local government elections, had gone viral online,
“The federal government knows that I have the capacity to bring down any aircraft”, he had reportedly said.
Responding however, the Nigerian Army through the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, dismissed Dokubo’s claim.
He said it was laughable and that the ex-militant was blabbing according to reports.
According to him, different security agencies use aircraft and helicopters for national security operations depending on the nature.
He added that because the military also operates within the ambit of professionalism and democracy, that its response to the issues would follow those tenets.
