A 26-year-old man, Iheme Christian on Thursday appeared in a Karshi Grade I Area Court, Abuja, for allegedly abducting a 17-year-old girl and holding her in a hotel room for sex.
Christian, who resides in Gwarimpa, Abuja, is charged with abduction, according to a report from NAN.
The Prosecution Counsel, Ayotunde Adeyanju, told the court that the complainant, Mrs Hajara Isah of Jikwoyi, Abuja reported the matter at the Karu Police Station, Abuja, on June 5.
He said that the complainant alleged that sometime in April, the defendant unlawfully abducted her 17-year-old daughter and took her to Miami Hotel Karu for the purpose of having sex with her without her consent.
He said that the offence contravened the provisions of Section 273 of the Penal Code.
The judge, Anas Isah, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the case until July 16, for further hearing
