The nature of the security challenges facing Adeba Community in the Lakowe area of Ajah has become a sort of a nightmare.

It has deteriorated to the point that, today, it is news of armed rubbers terrorising the community, yesterday, it was area boys causing massive problem.

Next day, it might become hoodlums killing people in broad light.
Everyday, in Adeba community, the news seems to get from bad to worse, as the security situation deteriorates further and further.
However, just a few years back, the residents had thought they were safe, and would not face security issues in their community again.

This followed the assurance of the Nigeria police that adequate measure has been put in place to comb the hoodlums out.

The police said people in the community should go on with their lawful duties, assuring the community that; they are on top of the situation.

However, the residents were to realise that when issues arise and the Nigeria Police is alerted; the feedback is, we don’t have men on ground now, or there is no fuel in our car to come.

Sometimes, they even advice residents to, take cover under the bed or in the wardrobe.

People in the community are now sleeping with one eye open because nobody is longer safe in the community.
It had dawned on them that the Nigeria police is incapable of guaranteeing the safety and security of its people.

The people in the community accuse the government of funding so many dubious agencies that in the end, confusion about who or whom will be in charge becomes the order of the day.

The world of technology has developed over time but our security agencies have refused to move along due to the fact that corruption has eaten deep into the security agencies.

Public funds have now turned into individual wealth.
Illiteracy is one of the major causes of insecurity in Adeba community  and it is a very strong factor; leading people against their community.
Unemployment is another strong factor; if the government could provide jobs for the people, especially the young ones, graduate; would help reduce or stop the menace in Adeba Community, because an idle man is the devil workshop.
The Government is ultimately responsible for the security of lives and property of the Nigeria people.

it is on this basis that people advise that Mr President should acknowledge the failure of the security agencies hence they should be completely overhauled.

The case of corruption is not meant to be compromised at all in the security agencies, so that they could be able to do their jobs effectively.

The state Government should rethink and improve on policy and institutional means of dealing with security concerns arising in Adeba community.
The people of Adeba community need to be reassured to develop trust in the Nigeria police and work together to resolve the issues confronting the community.
