Concerted efforts by the family of detained former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai to secure a bail for him has suffered a setback.
This is because an appeal challenging the refusal of a fresh bail application by the Kaduna State High Court has been dismissed.
Recall that the embattled El-Rufai, governed Kaduna State from 2015 to 2023, and was also a former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission holds him over alleged financial infractions.
The Court of Appeal sitting in Kaduna yesterday dismissed the application, a Certified True Copy of the judgment has shown.
The judgment was delivered by a three-member appellate panel, in a unanimous judgment, holding that El-Rufai failed to establish fresh facts to warrant granting him bail.

The lead judgment was delivered by Justice Onyekachi Aja Otisi.
Yesterday’s was his second bail application which refused to sail through, even as the Kaduna State High Court had earlier denied him bail.
