Chief Tajudeen Owoyemi began his career as a plumber; today, he is regarded as one of Nigeria’s wealthiest and most influential hotel owners.
Born in Offa, Kwara State, and a member of the Olugbense Royal Family in Offa, he earned a National Diploma in Civil Engineering and founded his first company, Tajudeen Owoyemi & Co., in 1978.
He built his career by executing major projects for organizations such as the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), and other government agencies.
He owns Radisson Blu Lagos, Radisson Hotel Ikeja, Park Inn by Radisson Victoria Island, and Avalon Hotel, Offa.
He built his wealth by expanding the hospitality industry and establishing Avalon Intercontinental Nigerian Limited, which owns four major hotels in Nigeria.
Chief Owoyemi also pioneered internationally branded hotel operations in Nigeria, including the country’s first Protea Hotel franchise.
