Saturday, 18 April 2026, was a day of honour for late Pa Johnson Okosodo for a life well spent, a day that would remain memorable for both the Okosodos and their many well-wishers.
Comprising of family members, colleagues and friends, they trooped in from many quarters, in giving the departed – a man widely regarded as having lived a worthy and impactful life – a befitting farewell,
Guests to the beautifully organised event included from the university days of Progressive Anthony Okosodo in the Department of Business Administration, University of Benin; colleagues from ExxonMobil, members of various clubs, and numerous admirers.
Though the gathering was tactically managed to avoid excessive crowding, people still turned out in large numbers to celebrate the late patriarch, Pa Johnson Okosodo.

Among those present were members of The Progressive Esan Club of Nigeria, Dynamic Esan Forum, Esan League 93, LCT, former ExxonMobil colleagues, and members of the Victorious Church, all united in paying tribute to a great man.
Entertainment at the event was top-notch, as the renowned Okhue, a celebrated musician from Esan land, thrilled guests with melodious songs.
Not only was the music act able to keep the atmosphere lively all through, his performances added cultural splendor. So was the Asona Dance Group from Esan land, which performance further elevated the celebration.
The event served as a reminder that life on earth is temporary and that one day, everyone would depart, and that what would remain is the impact people have made while alive.
In appreciation, Progressive Anthony Okosodo and family thanked everyone who attended and prayed for God Almighty to bless them abundantly and grant them journey mercies back to their various destinations.
