The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) command of the Nigeria Police, has reacted to alleged assassination attempt on Lieutenant Ahmed Yerima.
Lieutenant Yerima is the police officer who had gone virile following a confrontation with the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike over alleged land grabbing.
Even while the issue is still generating attention in media circles, the Police Command has said there were no reports of attempted assassination on Lieutenant Ahmed Yerima.
The spokesperson of the Command, SP Josephine Adeh, made the clarification in a statement in Abuja today.
The command through its spokesperson stated that no such incident was reported or recorded anywhere within the FCT.

Urging the public to disregard the information as false and desist from spreading unverified claims capable of causing unnecessary panic, it added:
“For the safety of all residents, the Command urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest Police Division.
