Professor Chukwuma Soludo is winner of the Anambra governorship election held yesterday in the state, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared.
The commission’s returning officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edogah Omoregie, declared Soludo winner at the commission’s headquarters in Awka.
He said the incumbent governor polled 422,664 votes, compared to his latest rival, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 99,445 votes to come second.
The third position Anambra governorship election went to Paul Chukwuma, candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP).

The Labour Party candidate, George Moghalu scored 10,576 votes while John Nwosu, the candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) polled 8,208 votes.
Soludo, former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), would now be running the state for a second stanza of four years.
