Residents Jittery Over Body of 96-Yr Old Woman Found In Soakaway

A rescue team of the Kano State Fire Service arrived at the scene and found a 96-year-old woman

Who could be responsible for the body of a 96-year old woman found inside a soak away in a rural village in the Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area of Kano State?

That is the riddle that the police is trying to find an answer to, and over which residents in Sarai Village are not jittery.

The Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, said in a statement yesterday, that the agency’s Emergency Response Unit got an a distress call on the matter.

Abdulahi said one Usman Adamu, in a distress call, informed that an elderly woman had fallen into a toilet pit in Sarai Village

“Our rescue team from the agency’s headquarters arrived at the scene and found a 96-year-old woman identified as Habiba Ado, whose relatives said she had been suffering from mental illness,”

“They also appealed to the owner of the house to cover the pit to prevent such incidents from happening in the future,” he said.

According to him, the rescue team confirmed the woman dead upon recovering the body from the pit, and that the body was handed over to the Ward Head, Alhaji Musa Muhammad, for burial.
