We Took An Oath, says Man Who Set Ex-Girlfriend Alight Inside Barracks
A man who set his girlfriend alight has left his hearers in shock with his defence that they both took an oath never to separate.
The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a man, Lawal Faruq, who allegedly set fire to his ex-lover after their relationship went sour.
True or false, he is now cooling off with the police, awaiting his next fate following the attack that happened at a military barracks in Ibadan, the state capital.
Faruq reportedly resorted to setting the lady alight for her alleged breach of the oath-taking agreement between them.
He just doused the victim with petrol before setting her ablaze, according to details of the feud as shared online by a counterinsurgency expert, Zagazola Makama.
“The victim, Omolola Hassan, was reportedly doused with petrol and set on fire by the suspect, who was said to have been angered over the breakdown of their relationship”, Makama stated.
“According to witnesses, military personnel at the barracks quickly intervened and extinguished the fire before rushing the victim to Yawiri Hospital, Akobo, for medical treatment.

“The suspect, who claimed that both had taken an oath never to separate, is currently in custody”, the post added.
The incident has again brought to the fore, how sour love relationships could go, moreso, when one party is not willing to let go.
It also underscores the importance of caution and the need for personal investigation before entering into any love relationship.
