Awujale Islamic Funeral: Soldiers Bar Traditionalists From Entering

Traditionalists who thought they could cause disorder at Islamic funeral rites for the late Awujale of Ijebu land, Oba Sikiru Adetona yesterday, got more than they bargained for.
They were hindered from accessing the venue by soldiers who were on ground to keep order.
The remains of the monarch were peacefully interred at his Ijebu Ode private residence around 6 pm on Monday, thereafter.
No sooner had people gathered for the Islamic funeral rites than the traditionalists and cult members began to make their presence known.
As the mourners started panicking, soldiers took control deterring the traditionalists from carrying out their plans.
They could not dare the soldiers who promptly escorted them out of vicinity.

A source told The Eagle, that the traditionalists were of the Osugbo cult who usually show up at the interment of traditionalists, seeking to use such opportunities to advance their traditions.
They had come to the late royal father’s Islamic rites ceremony with such in mind, but it had not worked out for them.
