Sex Advances: Man Machetes 14-Year-Old Girl To Coma

A 33-year-old man, has macheted a 14 year old girl into coma, because she allegedly rejected his sex advances.

The man, Chinazum Nwaubani has now been taken into police custody while the girl is writhing in pain in hospital on account of the injuries she sustained because of the attack.

The incident happened in Obete Nchina Village, Ntighauzo community in Obingwa council area of Abia State, even as the girl’s father, Mr. Chijioke Anaba, has alleged extortion from Policemen at the Eastern Ngwa Division.

Anaba said they demanded N30,000 from him to register the matter, an assertion now being denied by the police.

The Eagle understands that the victim, Felicia Anaba had gone to get firewood with her male twin at a bush in the village when they were accosted by Chinazum.

The suspect had allegedly made sex advances on Felicia and attempted to rape her.

While her twin escaped from the scene, the girl reportedly resisted the sex advances leading to deep machete cuts on her head, leg and hand; she managed to flee from the scene in a pool of her blood.

Chijioke Anaba, father to the victim however alleges that Police at the Eastern Ngwa Division frustrated his efforts to arrest the suspect by demanding the sum of N30,000 from him to register the matter.

He also expresses fear of a premature release of the suspect, adding:

“My daughter had fallen into coma when she was rescued by the search party in the bush.

“We took her to the hospital and lodged a report with the Police at the Eastern Ngwa Division. The Police demanded N30,000 to investigate the matter, which I paid.

“They have arrested the suspect, but from what’s happening, I am afraid that Chinazum may be released from detention to continue his attack and kill my daughter.

“The police should do their job because the boy is now a risk to the people in the village. The Police are saying he is a mad, man but it’s not true”, he stated.

He is also afraid the girl might become disabled on account of the attack hence he is pleading with the wife of the state governor, Priscilla Otti, to come to her aid.

Joining its account, the Abia State Police Command denied allegations it demanded money to go into the case.

It spoke through Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka thus:

“We have no such report, as no one has come forward with evidence. This is not a time when anyone can simply make unverified allegations.

“Anyone with credible evidence is kindly advised to report to the Complaint Response Unit for proper investigation”.

However, she confirmed that the police had arrested the suspect, Chinazum Nwaubani, in connection with the attack on the set of twins, a boy and a girl who had gone to their father’s farm in Obete Nchina village, Ntighauzo community.

“While at the farm, one Chinazum Nwaubani, aged 33 years and a resident of the same village, allegedly approached them armed with a machete.

“He reportedly grabbed the female twin, ordered her to lie down and remove her clothes. When she refused, the suspect allegedly attacked her with the machete, inflicting injuries on her head, back, and leg,” Chinaka said.

A latter twist to the story is the assertion that the suspect has mental problem, an assertion that the victim’s father refutes.
