Nigeria is now 49th in the world and 7th in Africa, according to the latest Federation of International Football Association, FIFA, ranking.
The ranking released on Friday (today) has Nigeria moving down, while the recent world cup champions, France clinched the first position in the ranking.
In the same ranking, which had Belgium clinched the second spot in the world, with Brazil, Croatia, and Uruguay, clinched the third, fourth and fifth position respectively.
While in Africa, the first top four holders were, Tunisia clinching the top spot, followed by Senegal, with Congo DR on the third position and Ghana.
On the other side, Morocco stood at fifth position, while Cameroon, takes the sixth position. Egypt, Algeria and Cote d’Ivoire takes the eighth, ninth and tenth position respectively.
The next FIFA ranking is on 20 September, 2018.
