Suspended Ogun monarch, Olorile of Orile Ifo, Semiu Adewale Ogunjobi, has today been arraigned in court for the assault on 73-year-old man, Elder Abraham Areola.
The Ogun State Police Command arraigned him on three counts charges of conspiracy, assault and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.
The case has been adjourned to March 6 for a hearing after he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, the suspended Oba was granted bail after pleading not guilty to offences.
Oba Ogunjobi, a former police officer, alongside his accomplices, was captured in a viral video verbally and physically assaulting the old man.
He accused Elder Abraham Areola of betrayal which the latter, humbled to kneel and beg, kept denying.
After the video went viral, the Ogun State government in collaboration with Egba Traditional Council, on Monday suspended the traditional ruler.

In the video, he accused Elder Areola of an alleged betrayer with one Wasiu while cursing the old man severely.
He even threatened to deal with him, bury him and that nothing was going to happen.
The mater has since generated a lot of reactions, with many of such reactions, bemoaning such outbursts from someone on the corridors of traditional power.
One report said the assault on 73-year-old Elder Abraham Areola, was not the first.
Rather the monarch whose wife identified as Officer Veronica serving at FCID, Alagbon, had allegedly been leveraging his office to harass and intimate the people in the area.
