A group, named #EndSARS has been identified to be the brain behind the directive by the Presidency to declare an immediate overhauling of the activities of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS.
The group in a letter, which asked the Federal Government to look into the inhumane activities of SARS have surfaced online.
It has been confirmed that the letter was drafted and sent to the Presidency by the group on micro-blogging site, Twitter who have used the hash tag to report the gruesome activities of the Police department.
The group sent a 3-page letter to the Presidency on the 5th of August stating their wish for the Presidency to sanction the overhauling of SARS and conduct investigations into the activities of the department.
While Nigerians have expressed great satisfaction with the move and call by the Presidency, the letters have appeared like the precursory tool to the commendable step the Presidency has taken.
