He described Kano as one of the states where the NNPP had left many positive legacies and impactful programmes and which the people appreciated and reciprocated in voting massively for the party at the last elections.
He said all these while, he had not expressed any iota of doubt that
Governor Yusuf would be returned to his duly won position in due time.
“We are happy about it, because it redoubles our faith in the Nigerian judiciary.
“So we celebrate that the Supreme Court has done the needful and call our amiable governor to continue the good work he was doing before the distraction.
“.
Ajadi said Kano had remained a model state by virtue of the landmark achievements of Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who governed it for eight years, expressing the optimism that the currentc governor would take it higher
He described NNPP as a party of ideas and ideals for the people urging Nigerians to continue to rally round the party at their different constituencies so that they could experience real development turnarounds.
The Eagle reports that the apex court, in a unanimous decision by a five-member panel of Justices, today, vacated the concurrent judgements of the Kano State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal and the Court of Appeal in Abuja, which sacked Governor Yusuf and declared Nasiru Gawuna of the All Progressive Congress, APC, as winner of the gubernatorial poll.
In the lead judgement delivered by Justice Inyang Okoro, the Supreme Court held that the two lower courts wrongly deducted valid votes that were credited to Governor Yusuf by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
It held that the 165,663 votes that were deducted from Yusuf and the NNPP on the premise that the ballot papers were not signed, stamped or dated, were valid.
An upbeat Ajadi has said the verdict called for celebration.
