They were set on fire following the wave of misinformation, reports Zambian Observer.
The incident also led to the death of three community leaders, the report added saying the misinformation concerned alleged cholera outbreak in Mozambique.
Officials said most of the attacks have been led by the Naparamas, a militia group that has taken up arms against jihadists in the northern Cabo Delgado province.

There had been an allegation against the authorities of spreading cholera through medicine, which triggered protests.
The Naparamas also allegedly destroyed a cholera treatment centre, with observers expressing the concern that the incident may trigger insecurity in the country.
They are thus calling the authorities step in with proactive measures and safeguard lives and property.
The report quoted the secretary of state for Cabo Delgado António Supeia, , as saying earlier in the month: “The Naparamas are confronting the state by attacking police, community leaders and preventing assistance to the population.
“We already have other problems, such as people being raped due to terrorism. Leaders are mobilising populations daily to combat terrorism and we do not want another terror to emerge”.
For the incidence to have led to the destruction of 50 houses, in addition to loss of human lives, has again underscored the need for people to avoid misinformation, due to its repercussions.
