Ex-Man Utd Goalie De Gea Posts Training Picture Amid Newcastle Transfer Links

Former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has been putting in a lot of effort in training amid speculation that he may be moving to Newcastle.

De Gea left Manchester United in the summer, leaving him a free agent. The goalie has previously been linked to a number of teams, but no deal has been finalised. After first-choice stopper Nick Pope suffered a catastrophic shoulder injury, Newcastle became the latest team to be linked to the former Spain international.

De Gea has shown how he’s keeping himself in shape by posting a picture of himself in training kit on social media with the words: “Work, Work, Work.”

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has been coy when asked about speculation the Magpies could move for De Gea but has confirmed Pope will be out for four months. Martin Dubravka will deputise for the time being, but the club could well move for a new goalkeeper in the January transfer window.

De Gea will undoubtedly be aiming to land a move when the winter transfer window opens, having spent the first half of the campaign without a club. With Premier League, FA Cup, and Europa League championships under his belt, the goalie is still an accomplished stopper despite being permitted to depart United after 12 seasons due to a string of well-publicized mistakes.
