Police is giving thugs cover to attack Bullion Hotel, located in the Shimawa area of Ogun State, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi has alleged.

Ajadi levied the heavy allegation today, while reacting to the attacks on the facility and its workers which has recorded a third incident thus far.

Addressing journalists on the matter, he cited intelligent information at his disposal, and the attitude of the men of the Police in the ongoing investigation as clear indicators.

Ajadi, who is the gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the state, said because police was giving thugs cover to attack Bullion Hotel, it had not been able to make any arrests.

Instead, he added, some security detail who mobilised and arrested the attackers, ended up being detained by the police.

He said the offences the thugs committed were heinous but that the police had done nothing in terms of arresting them despite complaints.  

Ajadi referred to the first attack in September attack, when a Security Guard in the Hotel, Taiwo Lawal, sustained severe injuries while attempting to protect him from the thugs.

A similar incident he said happened October 3, when over 20 political thugs, led by three men in Police Uniforms launched a brutal attack on the Bullion Hotel leaving staff and guests traumatised.

He said the information he gathered and the attitude of the men of the Police in the ongoing investigation has shown that the political thugs are being aided by the Police from Shimawa Division as many of them have not been arrested despite evidences.

Further asserting that the police is giving thugs cover to attack Bullion Hotel, he said that was why the commendable efforts of the hotel’s intelligence officers in the arrest of one of the assailants who attacked the hotel in September did not count.

Instead, Ajadi said, the officer, Nwokparo Offor was detained by police and eventual charged to Court.

He said instead of detaining the thug, Offor, the security personnel responsible for his capture were arrested and charged by the Police.

Ajadi said before leaving the scene, Officer Lawal who came along with Officer Kenny hit one of the hotel’s officers, John Osita, on his chest twice.

Proving further insight on what happened, he alleged that some thugs in the course of the confrontation, came and started shooting guns at the Bullion’s security officers immediately after the police vehicle left the Bullion Hotel premises for their station.

Also, Bullion Hotel Toyota Hilux vehicle, was stoned by some of the thugs hiding around the police station, which destroyed the windscreen, adding that it was by the grace of God the driver escaped.

According to the politician cum entrepreneur, the attack of last Tuesday took place around 8 a.m., masterminded by individuals he identified as  Alowonle’s  Boys, Alowonlo being the Chairman of Okada Riders in Simawa.
