Hajj 2024: What Intending Pilgrims Must Know Now
Do you intend to be at the Hajj 2024, for the annual holy pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia?
If yes is your answer, then there are certain things you must do, if you are from particular states, and others you need to generally take note of as a prospective pilgrim.
For a start, recall that the Saudi ministry of Hajj had already announced the allocation of 95,000 Hajj seats to Nigeria for interested Nigerian pilgrims.
This was a major fallout of a meeting of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and the Saudi Ministry of Hajj last week
The high points of the discussion:
-Nigeria to finalise all arrangements and negotiation with Service Providers including the Catering, Accommodation and Transportation within the next 120 days.
-NAHCON to submit lists of Medical and other officials to the Kingdom very early as the Kingdom has plans to work with the two bodies very closely.
-Measures to ensure that only Air Carriers with at least two Aircrafts on its fleet and a Back- up are appointed or allowed to participate in the Hajj 2024 operation.
-The Kaduna State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Agency urges intending pilgrims for Hajj 2024 to make an initial deposit of N2.5m with an additional payment of up to N4.5m by Dec 31.
-Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr. Yusuf Arrigasiyyu stated this at a press briefing on Wednesday in Kaduna.
-the payment is necessary, pending the announcement of Hajj fare by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON.
– No registration by proxy
-intending pilgrims advised to present themselves at the registration centres across the state
