”We are coming back to deal with you people, Shimawa belongs to APC’

We are coming back to deal with you, we will kill three people here.
Those were parts of the words of terror issued by thugs who stormed the premises of Bullion Hotels in the Ogun outskirt yesterday.

The attack which took the area by surprise happened around 8pm, accounts from the eye witnesses narrated
According to them about 20 political thugs, allegedly led by three police officers, stormed the establishment threatening fire and brimstone.
Giving indication of their grouse, they were saying: Shimawa belongs to APC, We are coming back to deal with you. We will kill at least three person’s”.
Bullion Hotels belongs to Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), in the last general elections.
The party has had an increasing influence in the area owing to the generousity and philanthropic disposition of Ajadi.
A youth advocate, he has inspired a lot of people in the area through openness and accommodation
Reports on the attack showed that the attackers identified themselves as boys of Alowonle of Shimawa, the chairman of the motorcycle (Okada) riders.
They brazenly looted hotel property and personal belongings, creating an atmosphere of chaos and terror, an eyewitness said.

Reacting to the incident in an interaction, Ambassador Ajadi said it was the work of opponents trying to intimidate him out of the commitment to bringing democracy dividends to the people of Ogun State
” But they can never succeed. Our commiois to ensure a better life for our people, there is nothing else we are dragging”, he said.
On the assertion that the thugs were accompanied by some officers, Ajadi said:
“Well, I can tell you that not all persons who wear police uniform are actually police officers. Even if they were, we have seen instances where security men act beyond their briefs without their superiors knowing or authorizing it”.
He said he has much respect for the Nigerian police, and that it would do justice in arresting the perpetrators.

According to him, the threat that, “We are still coming back to fight you, and we must kill at least three persons”, is an open invitation to the police to do its job.

According to Jamiu Opeyemi, one of the security officers, a similar attack on September 5, 2023, when a group of thugs, some disguised as soldiers, stormed the Bullion Hotel.

Opeyemi said that during that incident, Taiwo Lawal, a security guard, was gravely injured while attempting to protect Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi, the hotel’s CEO and a gubernatorial candidate for the 2023 general election in Ogun State under the political party NNPP.

As at the time of filing this report, the staffers were still in shock over the development.

Among the items they reportedly lost were phones, a substantial sum of money, and numerous power banks used for charging mobile devices.
