At Last! Chelsea Confirm Front-Of-Shirt Sponsor

Following approval by the Premier League, Chelsea has officially announced a jersey sponsorship arrangement with sports data business Infinite Athlete.

The Blues had been playing without a front-of-shirt sponsor in the opening weeks of the season as the club sought a commercially beneficial agreement. A one-season, £40 million ($48m) deal was agreed with Infinite Athlete more than a month ago pending Premier League clearance, which was finally granted on Wednesday.

The women’s team are set to debut the new shirt sponsor when they take on Tottenham at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Finding a suitable sponsor for Chelsea has taken some time. Due to Premier League broadcasting rules, an agreement with Paramount+ fell through, and an offer from the online casino Stake was rejected by fans. The new sponsor accidently showed up in a Sky Sports promotional video six weeks ago, so it appears that the Blues had been waiting to disclose it.

The new-look uniforms will make their premiere for the women’s team on Sunday, and for the men’s team against Fulham on Monday night.
