Robert De Zerbi could replace Carlo Ancelotti as Real Madrid manager after the Italian’s contract expires.

After his team lost 3-1 to rival Atletico Madrid on Sunday, Ancelotti’s position as Real Madrid manager came under further criticism. When the Italian’s contract expires in 2024, Los Blancos are rumoured to have already begun shortlisting managers who might take over as manager. Numerous names have apparently been canvassed, with Xabi Alonso being the front-runner to assume the reins.

Cadena SER claims that the Spanish giants are also apparently eyeing Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi in addition to Alonso because of his outstanding performance with the Seagulls in the previous season.

Ancelotti has previously said that he would be pleased to see Alonso return to Real Madrid as coach, and the Italian is anticipated to succeed Alonso as Brazil manager when his contract at the Bernabeu expires.
