Chelsea CRISIS Meeting Called As Pressure Mounts On Graham Potter

Graham Potter’s job in the dugout was apparently under threat this week, prompting a crisis meeting summoned at Chelsea.

According to the Evening Standard, discussions have been taking place at Chelsea between Potter and members of his first-team staff in an effort to stop the team’s terrible recent run and turn their situation around.

The Chelsea manager has discussed with his coaching staff ways to improve performances as well as the necessity of boosting players’ confidence and raising the low morale within the group after his team was defeated by bottom-place Southampton the last time out.

At this point, co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali do not believe Potter is the issue, thus his status as manager is not questioned. Yet, the Chelsea manager has publicly acknowledged he is aware of the pressure given his recent record of just nine victories in 25 games.

Chelsea’s owners are rumored to be willing to be patient with Potter for the time being, but they will want to see improvements, especially after funding a £600 million spending spree in January that brought players like Endo Fernandez, Mykhailo Mudryk, Noni Madueke, and Benoit Badiashile to the club.

No side has scored less goals since the beginning of November (the month in which the Blues’ streak began) than Chelsea, who have only scored six goals in their previous 11 Premier League games. In fact, only one of the Blues’ last 14 league contests have seen them score two or more goals (2-0 vs Bournemouth).
