Wout Weghorst’s loan agreement with Manchester United is about to be finalized, and it is said that Besiktas and Manchester United have reached an agreement over compensation.

After Burnley was relegated from the Premier League and the 30-year-old frontman was allowed to leave Turf Moor, the Netherlands international headed to Turkey on a season-long loan agreement. Weghorst will likely play football in England through the remainder of the current season.

According to Fabrizio Romano, United and Besiktas have reached an agreement under which the latter would pay £2.7 million for the termination of one loan agreement and the establishment of a new one. As the way is now open for him to travel to Manchester, Weghorst is reportedly in the process of packing up his belongings in Istanbul.

Positive talks have taken place between all parties, including Burnley, as a January transfer is planned. Weghorst is likely to fly to Old Trafford for a physical on Thursday before the necessary paperwork is finalised.

After Weghorst scored nine goals for Besiktas this season, they were originally hesitant to let him go, but they eventually gave in after he made it plain that he wanted to take advantage of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The possibility of a permanent transfer is not anticipated to be a part of United’s loan agreement.
