The Jagaban Gives Opponents Technical Knockout At Edo?

Has the gesture of the man they call the Jagaban of Nigerian politics, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, at Edo, be the much feared technical knockout on opponents in the 2023 general election?

That is the question on the lips of many following what the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 generation election did at the state today.

Tinubu is considered one of the grandmasters of Nigerian politics, and he has boosted the coffers of the Internally Displaced Persons there through the donation of N40million to help alleviate their flood problems.

The donation is coming at a time when both local and internationally agencies are rallying behind affected areas in what may be considered their most challenging moment.

The devastation in Edo has been felt most at Edo are Etsako Central, Etsako East and Esan South East Local Government Areas, leaving about 32,893 persons in urgent need of succor.

The Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp at Oghomere in Etsako Central local government of Edo, is stirred by the donation.

Though the Jagaban, as Tinubu is also known did not show face at Edo, but it was the former governor of the state, Adams Oshiomhole that delivered his message.

“Tinubu wanted to come by himself the other time but the helicopters he wanted to use has problem and couldn’t come, but because of the urgency to help people affected by flood, he said I should donate this N40 million to all the flood victims in Edo

“Etsako Central which has over 19,061 affected persons has N20 million, Etsako East with over 7,742 persons got N12 million while Esan South East with over 6,000 victims got N8 million”, Oshiomhole said.

“He said I should tell you people that he would build a dam that would be used to collect the water released by Lado dam Cameroon. If you vote for him”, he added..

Giving an idea on how the money should be dispensed, he said Etsako Central being the worst hit should get N20 million while Etsako East gets N12 million, and Esan South East N8 million.
