How man set his five stepchildren on fire after wife denied him sex

A 54-year-old man named Joseph Ojo has been apprehended by members of the Ondo State Police Command on suspicion of setting five of his stepchildren on fire in Ondo Town, Ondo State.

Following an argument with the mother of his stepchildren over her refusal to give him sex, the guy was imprisoned for pouring gasoline into their room and setting them on fire.

Information obtained reveals the suspect, who reportedly lived in the Fagun Crescent neighborhood of Ondo town, left his wife and her 18-month-old twins inside the room before setting both the kids and the room on fire.

A source according to Tribue, the alarm raised by the children attracted the neighbours who raced to the scene of the incident to save the children but one of them had been badly burnt in the inferno.

The State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Funmi Odunlami, confirmed the occurrence and claimed the individual had been detained by the police in connection with an alleged murder and arson case.

He confirmed that the suspect was not the victims’ biological father, but rather their stepfather, and that the suspect was the father of the 18-month-old twins.

Before bringing the suspect to court, according to the PPRO, more investigation would be conducted.

The mother of the children, however, was reportedly able to flee with her twins and sustain just minor injuries, but four of the kids were transported to a clinic and sent to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, for treatment.
