SMEDAN, RMRDC Motivate Budding Entrepreneurs At SMEs’ Forum

The Small & Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and Raw Materials Research & Development Council (RMRDC), have utilised the opportunity of a recent forum to admonishing budding entrepreneurs on the safe way forward.
This was at the SMEs Expression summit, an initiative of Dream Next Enterprises which held in Lagos recently, and was anchored by Editor of The Eagle news media, Mr Cami Ezenwa.
Event host, Bisi Otunla, while welcoming participants to the event, said it had been informed by the need to equip operators in the sector with what it requires to succeed.
He said as much as SMEs faced many challenges, but that the issue of finance had remained fundamental, and that the idea of the forum was to bring different stakeholders together to discuss and advise one another.
He therefore urged participants to make the most of the programme.
Mr Olutobi Oluwole, Lagos Chapter chairman of SMEDAN, gave an enlightening overview of the activities of the agency since inception, adding that it had always been around for SME operators.
He said the SMEDAN doors, via its several outlets nationwide and dedicated staff were open to anyone genuinely interested in operating in the sector, or in need of guidance to reinvent his or her enterprise.
Also speaking, Mr Mathew Odesanya, Director of RMRDC, Lagos, took the forum through the huge potentials and possibilities that nature had endowed the country with.
He said his agency’s job had been fashioning, discovering and making available, research and development in the best way of utilizing these resources for the public good.
He also urged end users of raw materials researches to feel free to contact designated offices of the agency for help in advancing their entrepreneurial courses.
Both representatives did a good job of taking as many questions from the audience as possible, at the end of the day, proving the much-needed light for budding entrepreneurs.
A highpoint of the forum was the mounting of exhibition by participating SMES, and a tour by the participants.

Among the firms that registered their impressive presence at the forum were, LASGIDI Properties Limited, Evertop Realtors Limited, Adron Homes & Properties Limited, ISTS Natural, and Grandeza Comfort.
Others are Lovonous Microfinance Bank, Kashspace Interiors, Adonai Bookshop & Housing and T2 Radiance Services
