Injury Crisis Hits Super Eagles Ahead of Algeria Friendly

Three players have withdrawn from the Super Eagles for the forthcoming international friendly against Algeria: Ahmed Musa, Samuel Chukwueze, and Emmanuel Dennis.

The positions of Godwin Saviour and Ebube Duru have been chosen in place of the aforementioned trio. With Moses Simon and Chidera Ejuke expected to run the flanks, Cyriel Dessers and Taiwo Awoniyi are likely to start against the North Africans. Henry Onyekuru and Leon Balogun are still sidelined due to injury, too.

As of Tuesday morning, there are already eighteen players at Super Eagles camp. The names of the individuals are Maduka Okoye, William Troost-Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo, Chidozie Awaziem, Ola Aina, Calvin Bassey, Zaidu Sanusi, Valentine Ozornwafor, Kelvin Akpoguma, Wilfred Ndidi, Frank Onyeka, Alex Iwobi, Raphael Onyedika, Moses Simon, Taiwo Awoniyi.

The Super Eagle trio would want to be in shape for their clubs’ forthcoming hectic schedules because they missed this prestigious friendly. In La Liga, Villarreal travels to play Cadiz, while Musa and Sivasspor take on Hatayspor following the intermission. Other guests of Leicester City on October 3 include Dennis and Nottingham Forest.
