He Stabbed His Football Coach To Death, Now Court Has…

They probably would have best of times before now, being footballer and his coach, but on this day in question, something went awry between the two.
- year-old man, Salisu Muhammad-Yakasai reached out to a knife and used it to stab his coach, Mujittafa Musa,32.
Now, a Kano State High Court, has sentenced Muhammad-Yakasai, to death by hanging convicted on a count charge of culpable homicide.
A source told our correspondent that prosecution Counsel, Mr Lamido Sorondinki, said Muhammad-Yakasai, committed the offence on March 2, 2019 at Yakasai Quarters Kano.
According to the account, the incident happened at Gangare in Yakasai Quarters, at about 11.20pm, following an argument between the footballer and his coach.
The convict stabbed the victim twice on his chest.
He was however confirmed dead on arrival at the Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital Kano where he was rushed to.
The prosecutor produced four witnesses to the court to prove the charge against the defendant.
According to the prosecutor, the offence contravened section 221 of the Penal Code.
The defense counsel, Sani Ibrahim-Salisu, however, produced three witnesses to counter the charge.

The presiding Judge, Justice Dije Aboki, held that the prosecution had proven their case beyond reasonable doubt and therefore sentenced the convict to death by hanging.
