Where To Find Abuja Ladies These Two Days ? Check at the Pink trade fair, which has already kicked and will run for the next two days.

At the pink trade fair, you are sure to meet women in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) coming to market their potentials.

It is n initiative of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The minister the Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen, , said at the flag off  Pink Trade Fair that it is being organised under the 50 Million African Women Speak Platform Project (50MAWSP).

It is an initiative for women empowerment and mentorship, and the programme is expected to contribute to economic and social empowerment of 50 million women in businesses across 38 African countries

Dr. Ifeoma Anyanwutaku , Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs represented Dame Pauline Tallen at the event, informing amongst others that the 50MAWSP was funded by the African Bank(AfDB).

The fair would host over 50 sales stands displaying items produced by women from all sectors, and these would be offer at very reduced rates, according to reports.

“Let me start by informing you that the 50 Million African Women Speak  Platform Project(50MAWSP) is a  practical initiative being implemented by the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA).

 “This Pink Trade Fair is unique as it is designed to bring various women entrepreneurs and businesses together to showcase their goods and proficiency.

It provides a one stop shop for women to start, grow and scale up their businesses as well as access financial and non-financial services and information,” .

“The East African Community (EAC) and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) are also part of it, and it is implemented through a digital networking platform via web mobile devices as Apps” she said.

Women have become critical in the efforts of governments and supra international organisations to battle poverty, especially given that some households are actually headed by women or have women as the major earners of income.

This is another reason the government is prioritisng the Pink trade fair.
