The PDP candidate of Lagos East Senatorial district, Mr Babatunde Gbadamosi has implored the Governor of Lagos State,Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to pay the salaries of workers of Lagos Waste Management Authority,LAWMA.

Gbadamosi made this known through his facebook social media handle in the early hours of Monday, November 09,2020, while attending to some LAWMA workers who blocked the Eleko express road, crown estate in protest against non payment of three month salaries.

The LAWMA workers said that the Lagos State Government has not paid their salaries since August this year.

One of the LAWMA workers said “The Government owe us three month salaries and life has been difficult for us”.

“Most of us are widows and single mothers who have no helper or any other means of survival”

“We beg for food and transport fare from passers-by each time we resumed to our duty posts,” The LAWMA worker lamented.

Meanwhile, efforts to get the Government side of the story proved abortive as telephone of the Lagos state commissioner for information was not going through as at the time of filing this report.
