Youths’ President Condoles With Families Of Victims Of Lekki Masacre

Declares – ‘The Federal Government Has Failed The Nation’

Leader of All Youths Reoriented Initiative (ANYRI) of Nigeria, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has expressed his condolences with the families and friends of the peaceful protesters that died at the Lekki toll-gate.

Ajadi , while condoling with the bereaved however added there was need for the Federal Government address the nation as quickly as possible to calm nerves.

His reaction coincided with President Muhammadu Buhari’s address on the matter, which however many people are criticising. However, Ajadi in a statement, a copy of which was obtained by The Eagle, had observed that a well-worded statement by the president would go a long way to assuaging the aggrieved.

He also demanded justice for those affected in the mayhem, adding that the government had failed the masses of the country.

According to him, there was need therefore for the government especially at the federal level to do the needful.

Ajadi also urged Nigerian youths to calm down as their grievances against the police brutality over the citizens, especially the youths, have been well noted.

He said there should be a stop to destruction of properties adding that protection of investments in the country should be one of the duties of youths as builders of tomorrow.

Ajadi emphasized that the youths should not forget that the Nation was economically, morally, politically, and spiritually sick at the moment and that the country is just regaining itself from the economic hardship as a result of the sudden advent of Covid-19, adding that any wrongdoings now may lead to another nationwide pandemic.

“President Muhammad Buhari, you should know that the sudden increment in tax, electricity, and petroleum pump price are part of the youths’ grievances in addition to the protest against the police brutality.

“The supposed benefits of the increment in payment for social infrastructure and the nation’s monument are highly questionable”, he said.
