NECO SSCE:        Monday October 5 – Wed November 2020

NCEE for Federal Unity Colleges’ admissions – Saturday October 17

BECE Resit exam:             Wed 11 and Thursday 12Nov, 2020

BECE for JSS 3:   August 24, 2020-Sept 2, 2020

NABTEB Exam:  September 21, 2020 – October 15, 2020

The detailed examination time table was produced for you from a press statement titled, “Making the Conduct Of Public Examinations Work in the COVID-19 Era”, by the NECO Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, Prof Godswill Obioma, on Tuesday.

The statement said that the BECE timetable was compressed to terminate on the 4th of September to reduce cost.

The Registrar said the examination body has prepared a manual on guidelines for the preparation of school for the conduct of public examinations in the context of COVID-19 which covers five areas.

He added that “NECO has put in place special measures for its BECE, SSCE, and NCEE this year”, adding that “the measures will ensure appropriate standards and excellence before, during and after the examinations”.

Among the measures include the signing of an oath of allegiance by everyone who will participate in the examination while the installation and use of special CCTV cameras in all examination centres and custodian points are being explored.

The Eagle reports that the federal government had, late last month, released a comprehensive schedule for various national examinations for exit classes including Junior Secondary School (JSS) 3 and Senior Secondary School (SSS) 3.

By the initial arrangement, the examinations were to hold from August 17 to November 18, and included the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) for SSS3 students conducted by the National Examination Council (NECO).

The Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajuiba, had made the after a series of meetings with chief executives of examination bodies in the country.
