Overzealousness of security agencies in enforcing the lock down may have been harming more people than may be apparent both in Nigeria and elsewhere.

This is because a man has lost his life from beating by a combined team of police and soldiers, after being spotted holding a cup of liquid suspected to be alcohol.

The deceased was identified as 40 year old Collins Khosa, from Alexander.

The Eagle understands that officers from the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) and soldiers descended on the man in his compound once they sighted the cup in his hands,

Collins girlfriend, Nomsa Montaccsha, 30, was present and in fact also got some beating when she tried to intervene, the report added.
