There was a clear proof of desperation in Lagos people yesterday in the Idimu/Ejigbo axis, where a crowd of desperate individuals stormed the premises of Chrisland College, seeking for palliatives..

The trigger was an earlier demonstration of care by the school management which reached out to some people with food until they had none to give again.

But the news had already spread around, and many people equally pummeled by hunger in the wake of the prevailing lock-down in the state, rushed to the school compound seeking to find food.

But they seemed to have arrived late as they met the compound under firm lock and key.

The Eagle correspondent who got to the scene following a tip-off reports that many of the people were reluctant to leave, but instead lumbered about the gate expecting a change of heart from those inside.

Apparently, many of them had heard of palliatives released by the government, and anywhere at all where there is a hint of getting something was worth trying.

Some literally begged the school workers to just give them palliatives, but this time round, nothing came out.

Up to the time of filing this report, the people were still massing about the school gate expecting the all-importantly palliative.
