Omojuyigbe Replaces Johnson As NIJ Dep. Provost, Kalesanwo Made Ag Registrar

Dr Dele Omojuyigbe has become the new Deputy Provost of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) replacing Dr Jide Johnson , former occupant of the position.

Mrs Patricia Kalesanwo, formerly students Affairs Officer, becomes  Acting Registrar of the institution, replacing Mr Dotun Adeniji.

The appointments were major fallouts of a meeting of the board which rounded off at the institution’s campus in Ogba Lagos on Friday,

Before his most recent elevation, Dr Omojuyigbe, occupied the position of Head of Department of General Studies.

A cerebral writer and commentator on national issues, he is bringing to the office, years of meritorious experience in both the media industry and academia.

He is known for his frank dispositions and enjoys the respect of colleagues.

Omojuyigbe  is an alumnus of the University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University.

On the other hand, Mr Kalesanwo has been a strong pillar in students’management cordial relationships. She is a good mixer with students and staff and has a motherly disposition that has helped her course in the school thus far.

 

A statement issued by the institute on the new postings said in part: “The Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism has approved appointment of Dr Dele Omojuyigbe as the Deputy Provost of the institution.

“The council also approved the appointment of Mrs Patricia Kalesanwo as the Acting Registrar of the institution.

“The decision was taken at a meeting held today, Friday, the 28th of February 2020. The appointment takes immediate effect,” the statement
