Tension is yet to totally abate in the Iyana I[aja area of Lagos where some policeman have been battling commercial motorcyclists, a. k.a okada.
This follows the state government’s ban of the commercial bike operators as its way of checkmating associated vices.
The Eagle findings show that the okada operators in different parts of the state have been in solemn protest over the state government’s policy, saying it was like snuffing life out of them.
And when they massed about in the Iyana Ipaja area, the police fired life bullets to disperse them.
Miscreants equally tried to cash in on the faceoff, setting up burn fires in the area.
The problem had worsened the challenging traffic situation in the area leaving a lot of commuters on the road.
