Users of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway witnessed the terrible side of a gridlock earlier today, following a truck accident that happened near Mowe bus stop.
The gridlock was caused by a petroleum tanker with plate number KMC-107YS Kano which fell by the road side at Mowe junction at about 7am, close to road site of building construction giant, Julius Berger.
Recall that the road at the spot had been narrowed to allow for the construction activities to continue.
The Eagle correspondent who visited the scene heard some road users grumbling that accident on the road had become rampant.
Today’s accident was about one kilometre to Car Park C, of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) camp Camp.
The truck was fully loaded as at the time of the incident and there were fears that fire could be ignited at the spot of the accident.
The traffic snailed from Magboro to Mowe, as the road had to be demarcated from Lotto bus stop to the spot at Mowe bus stop where the accident occurred.
The resultant traffic was worsened by several other broken down vehicles.
However, men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were on hand to salvage the situation.
