NIJ STUDENTS KICK-START THE YULETIDE WITH GLORIOUS CAROL

The entire atmosphere at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ) Ogba, was simply electrifying on Friday December 14, as the students held this year’s edition of their annual Christmas carol.

The auditorium, venue of the service received students from different departments, lecturers and external visitors, and amongst the dignitaries present was the Deputy Provost of the school, Dr Jide Johnson.

The NIJ choir took the audience through a powerful praise and worship session and the audience danced and danced.

There was a beautiful drama presentation by the drama unit, and the drama was anchored on the theme of the carol: “He is here”.

A student, Jessica Maduka, speaking about her impression of the day’s event said:  “I have been looking forward to the carol service since the beginning of the week, for the choir to minister “.

Jessica further said she attended the service last year and it was a memorable one, and that having missed the one organised in her church, she resolved never to miss this one.

Also, the governor of the National Diploma class, Ibrahim Taofik described the class as very interesting, adding that it was the second time he was attending the carol.

Ikechukwu Princewill , of the Higher National Diploma (HND) II class was elated about his experience in the carol.

“I must confess to you that this year’s Christmas Carol has been an astonishing one”

“The vibe was just so engrossing and captivating, coupled with a massive attendance”

“Kudos to the school authority and the organisers in a whole”. This year carol is the best so far. Really enjoyed myself”, he said.

An ex- student from NIJ, Gabriella  Akalonu took the audience on a beautiful, melodious praise and  worship session, which elevated the audience. There were other performances from Paul Bassey, and other upcoming artists.
